Myanmar situation: Everyone is waiting to see who win and will be benefited
There is no guarantee that those who are rebelling will ever be able to form a new government. And there is no guarantee that how long the current government will be lasting. So both China and India have to start all calculations afresh.
The whole world sees Myanmar as China’s undeclared occupier. Myanmar is like a shadow of China.
Like China Myanmar has huge border with India. Due to the dispute with China, India wants to influence here in various ways. Therefore, they jointly were implementing a transit transport project between India and Myanmar at Kaladan on the Mizoram border.
While India has few such projects in Myanmar, China has hundreds of such projects all over the Myanmar. This has been the reality for a long time.
But after the elections in 2020, the situation in Myanmar turned completely upside down. The control of the government of Myanmar, with which India and China have been discussing the implementation of various projects for so long, has started to decrease across the Myanmar. All 8 provinces bordering Myanmar are now under the control of the rebels.
There is no guarantee that those who are rebelling will ever be able to form a new government. And there is no guarantee that how long the current government will be lasting. So both China and India have to start all calculations afresh.
Bangladesh is also facing similar problems. Bangladesh has made long efforts to repatriate the Rohingya. It is also not certain where these talks will start again if Myanmar current government ousted. Because if rebel Groups success, there will not be only one change of government. The whole of Myanmar may become a new country.
But China is not sitting in this uncertainty. Both the countries are also trying to make friends with the rebel groups. They also want to keep their commercial routes and projects safe. But the problem of Bangladesh is more complicated, because Rohingya problem is not a commercial project. Therefore, experts believe that Bangladesh should think anew to solve the Rohingya problem.
