The opposite wind in politics, BNP is now facing India!

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) which is known for its anti-India stance. The leaders and activists of the party call Awami League as India's broker, India's B-team, etc. Today the BNPE is going to be friends with India! Secretly, the relationship has progressed a lot. There have been several meetings. Know something?

It is common, if one trend in Bangladesh politics is Awami League, the other trend is anti-Awami. Which originated in 1971. There was no BNP then, but in 1977, Ziaur Rahman founded the BNP mainly by capitalizing on the opposition to Awami.

India and the Indian Congress Party supported Bangladesh in the independence war of Bangladesh. Since then, India has a historical relationship with Awami League. Since then, BNP has been doing politics on the principle of enmity with the friend of Awami League and friendship with the enemy.

But the last few years have seen a sudden headwind. The staunch anti-India BNPO has extended its hand of friendship with India. BNP is desperate to get India's support in the upcoming national elections.

Almost all the BNP leaders believe that if India was not flexible then the Awami League government could not have remained in power. So the leaders of the party are openly and secretly agitating for the approval of the big neighboring country.

On March 16, a delegation led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met for dinner at the residence of the Indian High Commissioner. Although the BNP leaders did not say anything directly about the meeting, it was clear that it was an attempt to improve relations.

Earlier, Mirza Fakhrul had a meeting with a high-level delegation from India while undergoing treatment in Thailand. Fakhrul left for London after the meeting. He went there and directly informed Tarek about the attitude of the Indian leaders.

On the other hand, BNP's three top leaders, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu and International Affairs Secretary Humayun Kabir, visited India in secret last year. There, Modi sought India's support for free and fair elections in Bangladesh from the top leaders of the government.

The next day on June 8, Indian daily The Hindu reported that BNP says, instead of looking back, we need to move forward. The politics of the 80s and 90s are now gone. BNP leaders also commented that the policy of bad relations with India in the previous periods of BNP government was wrong and stupid.

Currently, BNP is repeatedly saying that they do not support Indian separatists, they have no ties with communal forces. However, India is still not fully convinced by BNP's words. As a result, political analysts believe that the future will clarify India's attitude towards BNP.
